  • Sat, I am so glad to know you treasure Kauai... especially the North and East sides. That is my birthplace, and where all my children were born. Now Arizona is too much like Mana and Waimea for my taste! I long for green and wet, even muddy Hanalei.

  • I am from Kauai, and really sorry to hear you have bad memories of it. You are absolutely right, the expenses, added to frivolous and damaging charges and taxes are just ruinous.

  • The Somalia connection was brought to my attention by a Minneapolis resident, whose kids encountered them first in public schools. This missed the mainstream news at the time (80s ?), but the local kids there knew the impact.

  • In several places in WWW Land, over about 11 years, I can pat myself on the back a little: I have consciously gone to work on not needing to justify or defend myself. That "last word" had to go for me, and it was an old habit.
